Festival’s £800 donation to develop art at school

Pittenweem Primary School Parent Council would like to thank The Pittenweem Arts Festival Fringe for their very generous donation of 821.00. Pictured above are Kathryn Williamson, Betty and Jo Macfarlane, representing the artists of the Fringe group, presenting the cheque to the children and Parent Council. Betty and Jo both attended Pittenweem Primary school as children. The school had been lucky enough to have been offered a new Creativity award this year and the money donated by The Pittenweem Festival Fringe will be used to pay for materials used during workshops by local artists within the school. The photo is taken in front of Artist in residence, Mark Holdens beach scene, which he produced with P2/3, earlier this week.

A PARTNERSHIP between Pittenweem’s primary school parent council and the its Arts Festival Fringe organisers has led to a donation of £821 to enable pupils to practice and improve their artistic capabilities.

The festival donated the generous sum for it to be used to pay for materials used during workshops by local artists within the school, which has been offered a new creativity award this year.

Pictured receiving a cheque are, from left Jo Macfarlane (representing the festival), Wendy Rundle (of the parent council), Kathryn Williamson and Betty Macfarlane (also of the festival).

Louis Bannerman and Daisy Allan both of P4 are pictured in front.

The cheque presentation was made in front of a special piece of art work the school’s primary two and three pupils helped to make last week.

It was co-created by the pupils and the festival’s artist in residence Mark Holden.
