RNLI cashes in on open day

ANSTRUTHER Lifeboat Station held its annual open day recently with around 300 visitors taking the opportunity to pop into the station and meet the crew, who showed them over the boats.

Amidst glorious sunshine the crew found time to fire up the BBQ and sold a range of burgers and hot and cold drinks, raising £433.

Meanwhile, the following day, June 3, the lifeboat station hosted a visit from The Mini Clan, a club for Mini motor car enthusiasts, who were taking part in their 2012 Thistle Run.

Again, the Anstruther Lifeboat volunteers took the opportunity to spark up the burger grills and brought in just over £690 for RNLI funds.

Throughout the year the Mini Clan will be raising funds for the RNLI and the MS Society Scotland.
