THE Primary 4/5 class at Balcurvie Primary has been working on a project all about the ill-fated Titanic.

Pupils made models of the ship as part of a home link task and also dressed up as passengers and crew of as part of a full day workshop of Titanic activities.

Class teacher Susan Kellington said the Titanic disaster had really captured the Windygates pupils’ interest, especially with the centenary approaching.

“They have written stories, made a huge wall display, invented drama presentations, made model ships and cabins and carried out some fantastic research projects,” explained Ms Kellington.

The youngsters also helped organise an open day for the rest of the school and parents/carers with all their hard work and achievements on display for others to share.

As well as the work on display visitors were able to play interactive whiteboard games designed by the pupils, play Titanic themed control games using Beebot and Probot (programmable toys), watch a slideshow of photos from the development of the project, listen to recordings of diary entries made by the children, visit the model museum and solve morse code fact puzzles.
