THE good nature and generosity of Scottish football fans well-known worldwide.

What may not be as recognised, though, is the everlasting footprint that some supporters make when following the national side abroad.

One of Levenmouth’s councillors, Alistair Hunter, is a founding member and chair of the board of The Tartan Army Children’s Charity.

Fellow councillor David Alexander is also a trustee of the group which raises and then distributes thousands of pounds to disadvantaged children in areas where Scotland are playing.

Last year the Mail reported on a project in Alicante to redevelop a piece of waste ground at an orphanage into a football pitch.

As our pictures show, the work is complete, and the Spanish youngsters have been taking advantage of the new park provided by the band of Scottish football followers.
