a NEW shop has opened in Burntisland High Street and it’s already creating quite a buzz.

Precious Possessions is the brainchild of Ross Hall, an IT consultant who is branching out into the retail trade to indulge his passion for collectibles, antiques and things of beauty.

After years of attending car boot sales and picking up rare items, Ross decided the time was right to open up a shop selling some of the items he has collected over the years and Precious Possessions was born.

And, as well as collections of bone china, glassware, silver and paintings, he has beautifully hand-crafted silver jewellery, artwork from local artists, and collectible toys including a hand made dolls house, teddy bears and old games.

“A lot of my stuff is second hand, but it is definitely not junk, and all the pieces are quality antiques or things of beauty,” said Ross, who has become well known since he moved into the town 18 months ago.

“Burntisland is the ideal place for a shop like this with lots of visitors as well as locals popping in for a look to see what we have.

“All our jewellery is hand made and customers can be guaranteed that they will have something unique as they are one-off pieces, and because I get them directly from the supplier I can offer them at very reasonable cost as there is no middle man.

“I buy my paintings from galleries in the Edinburgh and Fife area and regularly pick up new stock.”

Ross says he has been pleasantly surprised since opening the shop last week.

“In the first few days we took in around £500 which was great.”

And he is already looking to the future with plans to introduce quality period and antique furniture into the back of the current shop and possibly open another across the road in the coming months.
