FIFE Sports and Leisure Trust has been awarded Investors in People status – a hard-earned accreditation from the UK’s specialists in leading and managing people.

Trust chief executive Ed Watson stressed that the achievement had a special significance, not only for the Trust’s 700-plus employees working at swimming pools and leisure centres across the Kingdom, but also for the growing number of active Fifers using the facilities.

He said: “We have superb facilities and equipment throughout Fife, but we could never achieve the very high standard of services we give to the Fife public without the professionalism and expertise of our staff.

“Being recognised as an Investors in People organisation is an important achievement for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, and we will continue working hard to improve our services, facilities and employment practices even further.”

Investors in People chief executive Peter Russian had high praise for the Trust, which manages 13 sport and leisure facilities across Fife.

He said: “Throughout our work with Fife Sports and Leisure Trust we have been very impressed by the level of commitment that the team has shown to being an organisation that truly values its people – and through them the customers who use their leisure services.

“This is an important milestone, but it is the improvement and the ongoing commitment which deserves the most acknowledgement and celebration.”
