KIRKCALDY-based Stagecoach in Fife held an exciting driving challenge for the family and friends of company employees to raise money for Comic Relief.

Over £2000 was raised for the charity from the event, which was well attended by employees and their nearest and dearest.

Entrants were able to experience what it’s like to drive a double decker bus, while following a planned, marked route, complete with obstacles, set on Crail Airfield.

Many people turned up to support the cause which made for a great day out for all the family.

The Revolution Bus, an innovative community bus designed to interact and educate, complete with games consoles, computers and a classroom, made an appearance and helped keep spectators warm and entertained in between the challenges.

The winner on the day, Mark McMullen, whose father Danny is a revenue inspector with Stagecoach, was presented with a trophy, champagne and Marks and Spencer’s vouchers.

Altogether 20 people participated in the challenge, each receiving a certificate for their efforts.

Other fundraising activities carried out by a number of Stagecoach employees included a non uniform day and local sweepstakes.

Sarah Boyd, operations director for Stagecoach in Fife, said: “We are proud of the efforts many of our employees went to, in order to raise money for this worthy cause.

“The driving challenge was well attended despite the poor weather and participants seemed to enjoy the testing course laid out for them!”
