THERE'S been a million photos of the harbour, chip shops and seagulls, but do they really reflect life in Anster?
The Anstruther Improvements Association (AIA) is holding a photography competition to give locals the chance to show what Anstruther really means to them.

The competition is open to anyone who lives or goes to school in Anstruther, Cellardyke and
Kilrenny and entrants are encouraged to take imaginative, eye-catching photographs within those boundaries to demonstrate the true, distinct character of life in the local area and answer the question 'What Makes Anstruther Click for You?'

The 10 most popular pictures as selected by the AIA committee in each age category will form a shortlist which will be exhibited in the Merchant's Room in the Scottish Fisheries Museum during the month of September.

Entries must be submitted to one of the following age categories: Primary School; Secondary School; Adults.

The shortlisted photos will be judged at the end of September by a panel comprised of the President of the AIA and local photographers. Prizes will be awarded for the top three submissions in each age category.

The prizes will take the form of gift vouchers for local businesses.
The judges will be looking for originality, creativity, strong composition and visual appeal.

A selection of all the entries will be featured on the AIA website as part of an online gallery of local photographs.

Christine Keay, President of the AIA, commented: "The Anstruther Improvements Association is delighted to be sponsoring this photography competition. We hope to receive a lot of entries which will give a new slant on Anstruther, Cellardyke and Kilrenny."

Full details on www.anstrutherimprovementsassociation.org, closing date – Friday, August 22.
