Buckhaven Community Centre clocked up an incredible £3000 in an eight-week cash drive.
The effort, spearheaded by Liz Brannan, vice-chair of the management committee, was to refurbish the centre's clock.

And sales of home baking, bric a brac and second hand books, raised half of the £6000 needed with Fife Council contributing the r
emainder.

The community centre team hopes the clock will make a huge difference to morale, the look of the centre and bring a focal point to Buckhaven in general.

Frank Rankin, the oldest member on the management committee and who is also a local historian, was asked to 'officially restart' the clock, by unveiling a commemorative plaque.

This took place just before the centre's AGM last week, so there was a good crowd present.

Thanks have been extended to everyone who contributed towards the fund-raising effort.
