PLANS to build a caravan park on farmland close to Cellardyke have been turned down by councillors.
On Wednesday, north east Fife area committee refused Mr and Mrs Andrew Peddie's application for a five and a half hectare field on their Cornceres Farm to be turned into the holiday facility.

Feelings have been running high in Cellardyke since the application was lodged.

The site, on prime agricultural land, lies to the north of the northern boundary of Cellardyke – north of Pickford Crescent – and to the east of Windmill Road, within an Area of Great Landscape Value (AGLV) across a footpath from the back gardens of properties on Pickford Crescent.

It is also around 30 metres away from the 'B' listed Kilrenny War Memorial.
