A CONTROVERSIAL application to create a permanent traveller site in Windygates has been refused by the area's councillors.
The Mail has previously reported on the proposed private pitch, applied for by James McLaren, that would have been located near Braeside Cottage.

It would have accommodated a maximum of four caravans plus an ancillary utility unit and a septic tank.

The application was made to Fife Council and was discussed at a meeting of the Levenmouth area committee at Buckhaven Community Centre on Wednesday.
