EAST Fife's players will learn the importance of staying switched on for the full 90 minutes after another late goal cost them vital points on Saturday.
Boss Stevie Crawford says throughout this week at training, his side will be working on their concentration to ensure three points don't slip away to one, thanks to late levellers.

The Fifers thought they'd done enough to win Saturday's crunch de
rby, only for Gareth Wardlaw to pop up three minutes from time to grab a point.

As the Fifers prepare for the visit to second-place Stirling on Saturday, Crawford said: "The last time we played them, we were beaten 3-0 and we have to see if we've improved since then.

"I think we have, but the one thing we're still doing is losing too many late goals.

"This week at training, we'll be working with the boys on their concentration levels and making sure they have the mentality to see out the game to the final whistle."

The boss said he felt his side were worthy of more than the single point they took from the Cowdenbeath game but refused to blame striker Paul McManus, who missed a first-half penalty and then blew a late chance from yards out.

"All good strikers miss chances and Paul was disappointed, but I'm sure he'll be back on Saturday and will stick a chance away if he gets the opportunity," said Crawford.

"I thought we started brightly, which was pleasing, and then went ahead.

"Danny Lennon had told them not to give us any time on the ball and we couldn't get going, so a draw at half-time was probably fair.

"In the second half, we were the better side and changed to a 4-4-2 and I thought we created a lot more than them."

Paul Nugent and Bob Campbell were expected to take some part in a friendly as the Mail went to press at the start of the week, while Stewart Baillie and Scott Thomson were also recovering well from their respective injuries.

Steven Campbell missed Saturday's game with 'flu and may be back in time for the trip to Stirling.
