EAST Fife have a new band of official supporters.
However, these followers are unlikely to be visiting New Bayview any time soon as they live half way round the world.

Our picture shows the pupils of Kitwetwe Primary School in Uganda wearing some of the training gear and kit that was kindly dona
ted by the club recently to Cupar's Castlehill Primary School.

They were handed over by teacher Kate Nicoll during a recent visit to the area.

Club director Jim Stevenson told the Mail why the second division side decided to support the venture.

He said: "When there was a request from the school we were coming to the end of the season and were due to get new kit in so decided to donate some of the older stuff we had.

"We do this quite often with schools and have also given strips and training gear to African countries for the past two seasons.

"It's also part of our licence with the SFA to do things like this for the community and it's something that we like to do at the club."

Castlehill and Kitwetwe have established a link and their head teacher also came to Fife earlier this year.

Kate has loads more footballs, strips and training gear donated by East Fife that she'd like to send to Uganda and is planning to fundraise to pay for the postage.

Anyone who'd like to help can contact the school on 01334 659453.
