A BOAT dilemma on Leven beach led to a man being injured and a Land Rover written off on Sunday.
The speedboat owner, from Falkirk, suffered an asthma or angina-like attack when he found himself in difficulty trying to launch his boat at around 10am.

Meanwhile, an unfortunate passer-by from Kennoway tried to tow the boat and trailer using hi
s Land Rover but he also got stuck in the sand.

A spokesperson from Ace Recovery said: "The boat owner had tried to launch it and got into difficulty. The poor guy who helped him out thought he was doing the right thing but got stuck and left himself little time because of the quick moon tides.

"The coastguard declined us access to the vehicle early in the day, saying we would have to wait until night to recover it."

Meanwhile the sea was left to do its worst and completely flooded the vehicle as the owner could do nothing but stand by and watch.

"We got back at 8pm but even then it was quite hard work for two hours to get it out - it was buried up to its waist in sand and we had to dig around it quickly."

The boat owner was taken to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline with suspected spinal injuries but later released.
