Viewforth Nursery was inspected in May by both the Care Commission and Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education.
The key strengths were identified as:
Relationships between children, parents and staff.
The calm, caring environment for learnin
g.
Staff teamwork and commitment to improvement.
The improvements recommended were that staff should ensure that there are increased opportunities for children to develop their early writing and maths skills and that individual learning goals are met.
Recently appointed headteacher Angela Welsh said: "The strengths identified in this report are down to the hard work of the staff and the acting headteacher.
"The recommendations made give us a basis for the way forward, and we will be working hard over the next year to further advance the quality of provision at Viewforth Nursery."

Viewforth Nursery - A "quality learning experience."
Councillor Douglas Chapman, chair of the education and children's services Committee, said: "Viewforth Nursery staff provide a very supportive, attractive and caring environment for the children in their care and that is recognised in the positive HMIe report.
"One of the most innovative approaches is Viewforth Nursery's nature kindergarten project where the children are encouraged to explore and appreciate our environment in an outdoors setting and that's something that we want to promote in other nurseries across Fife.
"Again, thank you to management and staff at Viewforth Nursery for providing a quality learning experience for their children."
