Levenmouth health visitor retires

Colette Greig, a well -known figure in local health care, has retired after 43 years' service in the NHS.

She said: "I am now entering a new phase in my life and looking forward to doing all the things I didn't have time to do in the past.

"I have enjoyed my 43 years with the NHS and it has been a privilege to be part of the team, supporting patients throughout their pathway of care."

Colette began her training at Fife College of Nursing in 1965 and, after qualifying in1968, worked for a number of years as a staff nurse at the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy.

She went on to successfully complete the Health Visiting course in 1984 after undertaking further education in the early 1980s.

Colette worked in the Levenmouth area from 1984, became a senior practitioner for Health Visiting and Community in 1994, and was appointed to the post of lead nurse for Kirkcaldy and Levenmouth Local Health Care Co-operative in 2000.

During the last three years she has worked as practice development officer within the practice and pofessional development team for primary care/community health partnerships.
