Wishes of Levenmouth councillors ignored over homeless provision - claim

A PLEA by Levenmouth councillors to reduce the homeless provision in the area has been totally ignored, according to two local members.
When the decision to close Kennoway's Melanie House was taken, councillors of the Levenmouth area committee asked that the previous efforts made in this area were taken into consideration and a similar shelter be found elsewhere in Fife.

However, the plea fell on deaf ears and it was instead decided that when Melanie House, which currently shelters up to 15 homeless people, closes in September Levenmouth would be included in the 'core and cluster' style accommodation set-up.
