  • Shock at deaths of ex-Kirkcaldy brother and sister
KIRKCALDY folk have spoken of their shock at the murder of a young boy and his disabled sister.
The bodies of Michelle Thomson (25), who had severe learning difficulties, and seven-year-old Ryan were found in their Buckhaven home on Saturday evening by their mother.

Their 49-year-old father has been charged with their deaths.
The family had stayed in Kirkcaldy for around 10 years prior to moving along the coast.

Former neighbours described the children as ''beautiful kids''.
Their deaths stunned people who knew them from their days in in the town when Michelle attended Rosslyn School.

Robert Thomson (49), known as Rab, his wife, June, and their four children all lived in a well-kept semi-detached house at 14 Oswald Court, a quiet cul-de-sac in Gallatown, for around a decade before moving to 20 Muiredge Cottages, Buckhaven, around four years ago.

This week neighbours described the children as "really friendly to everyone in the street".

"I remember Michelle used to ride her bike around the cul-de-sac and she would stop and smile and I would give her a flower from my garden," said one.

"The wee boy was just a toddler when they moved to Buckhaven but he was a gorgeous wee child."

Another resident of Oswald Court told The Press: "To be honest, the family kept themselves to themselves when they lived here."

And one man said the father had been in the building trade before moving to Kirkcaldy from Ayrshire and when he arrived in Fife he worked for a firm in Methil and sometimes brought one of the lorries home.

The siblings were found dead in separate rooms in the cottage shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday.
