AWARD-winning Dysart film maker Lawrie Brewster is to have his latest work shown at the world renowned Sundance Film Festival in America.
The film, a collaborative work from all over the world, began when Irish screenwriter Sarah Daly submitted a short comedy script to hitrecord.org – the brainchild of Hollywood star Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
The story 'Morgan M. Morgansen's Date With Destiny' soon came to his attention and he was so impressed that he recorded a voice-over for it.
Gordon-Levitt – who starred in the TV series 'Third Rock From the Sun' and also appeared in the movie 'Ten Things I Hate About You' – also gave his acting skills, along side up-and-coming actress, Lexy Hulme, and Lawrie then supplied the visuals and special effects using graphics, artwork and animation.
His art nouveau inspired creations resulted in a story which includes cello-playing felines and ornate Zeppelins. It also combines the work of illustrator Jenyffer Maria for a lavish visual spectacle.

Gordon-Levitt saw the finished product and contacted Lawrie's Dysart-based New Age Film to discuss developing the project.
Said Lawrie: ''Neither Sarah or I have had the opportunity to work with Hollywood professionals, so it was a very exciting experience.
"I had admired Joseph's work for years, and to find him complimenting my own, was almost surreal. He is a remarkable artist. He also has a very encouraging attitude.
"It was a remarkable honour to work with him as a director and I really enjoyed our conversations during the development of the film."
Lawrie, who also stars as a waiter in the production, was even more overwhelmed to discover that the film would feature at the Sundance Film Festival.
It is currently undergoing further work in preparation for the world-renowned event, including the production of a music score by Nathan Johnson, best known for his work on the soundtrack of the film 'Brick.'
The film, which will be screened tomorrow (Friday) as part of a HitRecord event, has also been praised by legendary actor and Sundance founder Robert Redford.

Lawrie added: "There is every possibility of further collaborations with Joseph and the other great artists of hitrecord.org.
''We are also making wonderful business connections that we hope can only assist in the development of independent film-making in Fife.
"It shows that it is not necessary to fly to the United States to find the necessary talent or recognition for creative accomplishment, as it is right here on our doorstep."
