FIFERS are being invited to take a local charity to their hearts by celebrating the first ever 'Love Maggie's Day' next month.
Past, present and future fundraisers are being encouraged to do an activity they love or do something for someone they love in the lead up to the day, which takes place on March 26.

The day will be celebrated in each region across the country when supporters will turn out at each Maggie's Centre and make a chain to 'hug' the building.

Maggie's Fife also intends to join in the celebrations.

The event was launched on Tuesday and Ruth McCabe, the centre head at Maggie's Fife, said it was important that people continue to raise money for the cause.

She said: "Maggie's Fife brings great solace and hope to the people of Fife and their families who are facing the devastating consequences of cancer.

"It is important for Maggie's as an organisation to highlight what we do, who we help and how important it is to raise money for our centres.
Love Maggie's Day is the perfect opportunity to do that.

"It will provide a great chance for people to celebrate their local Maggie's Fife and for us to thank you in return."

She added: "We will be throwing open our doors to the public, inviting all in to see our stunning centre and hear about what we do.

"The kettle will be on all day so feel free to join in with the centre hug at noon!"
