ORGANISERS of the Big Tent Festival, Scotland's Festival of Stewardship, have drafted in a team of specialists to help with the preparations for this year's event.
This year's Big Tent takes place on July 26 and 27, and promises to be an even bigger and better celebration with music, art and creativity championing the work of the environmental movement and everyone concerned with the conservation of the living world.
Top chef and food author Christopher Trotter is organising a 'Food Village' providing the best local and organic produce from Fife and beyond.
Publicity will now be handled by event marketing specialist Ian Harrower who also joins the team along with Dana MacLeod, a previous artistic director of the Edinburgh Mela Festival and Scottish music aficionado Martin Coull.
The new recruits have already made an impact with a host of initiatives including plans for a festival campsite which will allow visitors to enjoy the picturesque estate for the whole of the summer weekend and hopefully cut down their travel.
The brand new big 'hullabaloo' music tent will showcase a stirring line-up of concerts by international recording artists and the very best in 'Celtic and world music' talent.
There will be expanded zones highlighting environmental lifestyle, renewable energy, holistic therapies and treatments as well as a fantastic children's area.
In addition, there will be a dynamic programme of debates featuring the very best in 'Big Green Thinking'.
Programme director, Mike Small, said: "It's great to have Martin, Dana and Christopher on board.
"Good food and great music are the basis of any event — and when we announce our programme and line-up next week I think we'll see the benefit of their input."
Volunteers are needed to help out over the Big Tent weekend, and anyone keen to become involved should get in touch through the website at www.thebigtentfestival.co.uk
