PEOPLE in the Howe of Fife are once again in mourning following the death of a three-year-old girl in a tragic road accident on Tuesday afternoon.
Tyler Jay Reaney from Kettlebridge died instantly when the grey Nissan Note car in which she was travelling was involved in a collision with a grey Mazda 323 on the New Inn to Falkland Road.

The driver of the Nissan, a 49-year-old man who has not yet been named by police but is believed to be the child's grandfather, Kenny Cadger, is still in a stable condition in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

The other occupants of the car, believed to be Tyler Jay's grandmother and a young baby, and the 42-year-old female driver of the Mazda and her 22-month child, were all taken to hospital following the incident which occurred about half a mile from the New Inn roundabout near the junction of Pittillock Farm at around 4 p.m.

Paying tribute to their daughter, Jayson and Lesley Reaney said: "TJ was such a lovely little girl, very clever and full of energy.

"She had an infectious personality and touched the hearts of everyone she had contact with.

"TJ will be a great loss to everyone and will be an irreplaceable loss to our family".

At a press conference held close to the scene of the accident on Wednesday, the head of road policing, Chief Inspector John McDonald, said officers wanted to trace the driver of a transit van and a first-aider who both helped at the scene.

Work to gather evidence was hampered by the bad weather and darkness on Tuesday evening, but crime scene and accident investigations began first thing on Wednesday morning.
