FESTIVE bunting and balloons among the trees greeted those attending the Dairsie Gala Day on Saturday.
The Dairsie Memorial Hall committee thanked all the groups and individuals who supported the day, which raised £1055 for funds to maintain the hall.

The strawberry teas were popular and the stalls did a roaring trade, including a huge raffle and tombola made possible through many generous donations from around the village.

Inside the hall, a nature trail challenge gave locals the chance to test their knowledge of the countryside and entries to the various competitions were on display.

One participant said: "The Memorial Hall is certainly a great setting for such an afternoon, and I'm sure the many people who turned out are hoping that such a wonderful village get-together will happen again in the future."

Hall committee chair Carol Owen thanked the committee members for their hard work on the day, the competition judges Lilias Smith and Helen McNaughton, helpers Bethan, Rosemary and Susan, ceilidh helpers Sharif, Heather and Blair, the stall holders, the youth club, school, Pitcairn Trust, community council and SWRI.

Dunshelt Ceilidh Band provided music for the ceilidh in the village hall that ended the gala day.
