MEMBERS of the Falkland in Bloom committee are preparing to dig for victory again this year as they defend their coveted 'Champion of Champions' title.
The village has been officially declared as one of the finalists for the prestigious accolade, having been invited to take part by the RHS for three years running in recognition of its success in the annual 'Britain in Bloom' awards.
It will be up against Pitlochry; Harrogate and Grouville in Jersey for the 'Champion of Champions' title, which will be announced at the end of September.
Meanwhile, members of Cupar in Bloom will be also be donning their gardening gloves after being selected as one of six finalists in the 'town' category of the 2010 Britain in Bloom awards.
They'll be competing along with the City of London; Douglas, Isle of Man; Halstead, Essex; St Saviour, Jersey and Wetherby, Yorkshire in a bid to scoop a coveted gold medal.
This year's campaign will officially begin on March 24 with a mass planting exercise that will take place throughout the UK.
