GATESIDE partners, Nicola Cairns and Gavin Burnett, and Adrienne McStay from Newport are among eight Fife craft workers who have been awarded grants totalling £5000 to assist them progress their careers.
Gavin and Nicola, co-founders of MAKE, are a ceramicist and glassmaker respectively and hope to use the grants to further both their creative skills and promote their own work.
They also want to help other creatives in the area who share the MAKE studio.
Nicola received one of the largest grants made in order to buy a kiln which can be used by all the glassmakers in the studio and also allow glassblowing demonstrations for the public to watch.
Adrienne runs a hot glass studio and specialises in creating one-off commissions for public and private clients.
She has exhibited widely across Scotland and Ireland and is currently interested in exploring the use of colour in her glass designs.
The grants were presented at a special event in St Andrews Museum when the panel of judges had the opportunity to congratulate each of the successful craftspeople.
Babs McCool of Arts and Theatres Trust Fife and the judging panel, said: "It was very encouraging to see such a diverse range of makers apply to develop their skills and progress their careers in so many ways."
