TWO Howe of Fife sisters are looking for the support of Fife Herald readers in a bid to win a nationwide beauty competition.
Rebecca Gatherum (17) and her 16-year-old sister Sarah, of Cults Mill, are hoping that readers' votes will help them get through to the final of 'Teen Queen UK'.

The sisters, who have entered individually, were spotted at the Clothes Show held in Birmingham in December.

Both girls, pupils at Bell Baxter High School, then won the chance to enter a photo-shoot in London after sending in a photograph of themselves to competition organisers.

FEATURE

They now hope to get into the final of the competition's 16-19 age group category by securing enough votes in a text message contest advertised on the 'Teen Queen UK' website.

The girls currently feature as the March contestants and voting in this category is open until 10.30 p.m. on April 30.

The winner of the final round will go on to represent the UK in an international beauty pageant being held in Thailand as well as receiving a number of prizes including clothes and shoes.

Sarah told the Fife Herald they were both really excited about their involvement in the competition.

ENJOYING

"We both really hope to do well in the competition and there hasn't been too much rivalry, we're just enjoying being involved in it," she said.

"We hope that as many of our friends, family and other people who know us will go on to the website and vote for us!"

A third north east Fife teenager, Lorna Devine (17) from Newport, is also hoping to secure enough votes to get through to the next stage of the competition.
Lorna, a sixth year pupil at Madras College, was also spotted in Birmingham in December.
To vote for any of the girls, visit the Teen Queen website at www.teenqueenuk.co.uk for more details.
