A NORTH Fife charity is celebrating the receipt of a grant of almost £10,000 to help the area's native woodlands return to their former glory.
Scottish Native Woods (SNW) aims to restore and expand the woodlands that are natural to Scottish landscape.
The charity's cash injection from People's Postcode Lottery charity the People's Postcode Trust will allow SNW to thin out trees, reinstate and repair paths and reinstall drainage systems to Flisk Wood.
Dianne Laing, fund-raising manager with Scottish Native Woods, said: "This grant has meant that we were able to begin the clearing work in a beautiful wood.
"Improvements to the paths and clearing the litter are a great start and will be a boon to all the people who walk through the woods and along the nearby beach too."
The work of SNW benefits thousands of visitors and between 30 and 40 volunteers a year.
