A GLENROTHES teacher has been raising funds for a cause very close to her heart.
Clare Williams, who teaches religious and moral education at Glenwood High, completed a sponsored swim along with members of her family two months ago at Bowhill Leisure Centre collecting £2,700 for national charity Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society).
Pupils at the school also raised £1,000 and this was presented to a representative from the Society at Glenwood High on Friday.
The 37-year-old told the Gazette that Sands is very important to her because it provided a lot of support when her son, Alfie, passed away at the end of last year.
Clare said: "My son was stillborn - although I don't like using that word."
