Melanie Denyer
Melanie Denyer passed away at St Columbus Hospice in Edinburgh on Wednesday
, April 30.

The 37-year-old had been battling small cell ovarian cancer after being diagnosed in September 2006.

In November 2007 doctors told The former Caskieberran Primary and Glenrothes High pupil her disease was terminal.

In February a special event, which raised £1,000, was held in Glenrothes' CISWO Club to to help pay for alternative treatments and to realise her dream of visiting a tiger sanctuary in Thailand.

But, sadly, Melanie was too unwell to make the journey. All the money collected will now be donated to charities such as the PDSA (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) and Cancer Research.

Her funeral takes place at Seafield Crematorium in Edinburgh on Friday at 2pm. Anyone wishing to go along and pay their respects is more than welcome to attend.
