A LOCAL man whose ancestor was killed in the Tay Bridge Disaster has called for a memorial to the victims.
Stuart Morris of Balgonie's great-great-great-grandmother, Elizabeth Mann and her 14-year-old granddaughter, Elizabeth Brown, were among the 75 people who died in the 1879 tragedy.

They were travelling to Dundee from visiting relatives in Leuchars.
Mr Morris said: "I have always known the story of the disaster and its connection to my family.

"This was to 19th century Scotland what 9/11 is to America, so shocking at that time," he said.

Two other victims in the tragedy were born locally, John Hamilton, Markinch and David Mitchell, Leslie.
