TRICIA MARWICK, MSP for the Glenrothes area has sent a Christmas message to Gazette readers.
Mrs Marwick said: "I would like to wish everyone a really happy Christmas and festive season.

"Christmas is a time for giving and I was delighted to support the Gazette's Shoebox Appeal which I am sure has brought much festive cheer to our troops in Afghanistan. It was an honour to be present at the Homecoming March of the Black Watch in Kirkcaldy recently and it is wonderful that these brave men and women are home to spend time with Christmas with their families. My thoughts and prayers go to the troops who remain stationed abroad and in daily danger.

"Christmas is also a time for families and I will be spending Christmas Day with my family. I am looking forward to cooking Christmas lunch and helping my grandson open his presents.

"I hope all Gazette readers enjoy a happy and peaceful Christmas."
