NEW allotments have been launched in Auchmuty in Glenrothes.
The project to regenerate the former allotment site was started in January of this year.

Margaret Reilly, Fife Council Locality Manager for Glenrothes Central and Thornton said: "This project provides the Auchmuty area with a new community facility and has regenerated what was a grass field into a space where local people will be able to enjoy the benefits of allotment gardening."

Cllr Brian Goodall, Strategic Chair of Housing and Communities of Fife Council also welcomed the opening of the site commenting: "I'm delighted that we're starting to see the fruits of our labours on the Fife Allotments Strategy. As a former professional gardener myself I know just how rewarding allotment gardening can be and I've been really please to see the resurgence in interest there has been in gardening for fun, food, fitness and the benefit of the environment."
