ANNE McBain, accompanied by her husband, John, was awarded the James Braid Citizenship Silver Quaich Award and certificate at Saturday’s Sea Queen ceremony in St Monans.

Mrs McBain received her award from Jim Braid, son of Provost James Braid.

Mrs McBain, of Braehead in the village, is well known through the East Neuk burgh as a very hardworking ‘Simmininser’.

She is a ‘Sunday school on a Wednesday’ leader, Macmillan Cancer Care worker, baker for all village events, and a blood donor extraordinaire, with 99 donations already made and waiting to give her 100th diamond award ‘pint’.

In addition, she helps elderly neighbours and relatives, and is the assistant treasurer for the Auld Kirk – and more!

Our photograph shows Mrs McBain at the presentation. Pictured, from left to right, are Mr Braid, Mr and Mrs McBain and Sea Queen Rebecca Forsyth.
