Summer adventurers exploring Fife’s acclaimed Coastal Path are more clued-up than ever before, thanks to a series of new and updated information displays.

Over 40 fresh orientation panels have been installed along the 117 miles of the path, including the recently opened stretches from Kincardine to North Queensferry and from the Tay Bridge to Newburgh.

They feature full, detailed maps with information about the local area and sites to explore.

Meanwhile, for those keen to rest their legs for a while, there’s information on the path’s many Welcome Ports – walker-friendly nearby businesses including cafes, B&Bs and shops.

The panels also provide useful details on what to do if you spot some interesting wildlife as well as contact details for useful contacts for travel and accommodation information.

The displays are currently being installed by the maintenance team of Fife Coast and Countryside Trust.

Chief executive Amanda McFarlane said: “The summer months attract lots of people to the Fife Coastal Path, helping to make Fife Scotland’s outdoor tourism capital. We hope the new panels will help people experience and enjoy the Coastal Path and its nearby attractions.

“We are delighted that we have been able to secure sufficient funds to undertake this project which we hope will increase the economic benefit which the path brings to local businesses.

“As a small charity, we are always looking at new ways of supporting and improving the Path.”

The new panels also include information to enable people to donate money for the benefit of the path.
