MEMBERS of the University of St Andrews Dance Society are preparing for a once-in-a-lifetime journey, no passport necessary.
Their annual show, ‘Beyond the Horizon’, will take to the stage at the Byre Theatre from May 2-4 – and is not to be missed!
The show features more than 150 performers, and promises to be bigger than ever.
The student-run group is open to all members of the university, both staff and students.
The society offers free weekly dance lessons taught by student volunteers.
As well as bringing hundreds of members together to enjoy dance as a performing art, the society aims to promote interest in dance as a regular and enjoyable form of exercise.
Members also endeavour to take dance to the local community, and holds regular sessions with both primary and secondary school pupils.
The Blue Angels, the society’s competitive dance team, performs at events in and around St Andrews, and also features in ‘Beyond the Horizon’.
The annual show is another way in which the society likes to give back to the community, by sharing their talent and offering an enjoyable performance.
Audiences will be captivated by an array of styles from ballet to tap and street to contemporary, as the show travels across the globe to exciting and exotic destinations, such as Russia, Africa, throughout Europe and North America, and even outer space!
Those who attend will leave the show wanting to get up in the aisle and dance.
