PREPARATIONS for next year’s East Neuk Festival are off to a flying start with a preview programme already released ahead of the full brochure which comes out at the end of January.

The ninth festival, it will take place in 2013 from July 3-7 and this year artistic director Svend Brown has used ‘birds flocking’ as one of the central themes.

One of the soaring highlights of the festival is the UK premiere of ‘Inuksuit’, a huge outdoor percussion work composed in 2009 by John Luther Adams, one of today’s greatest musical thinkers and experimentalists.

As always, the East Neuk Festival will be making use of some of the area’s more quirky venues including roosting round the Cambo country house estate for a day-long programme of mixed activities.
