THE Anstruther Muster takes place from August 9-12 this year and organisers insist it will be better than ever.

A well-established annual event, attracting up to 100 visiting boats, it is now being run as a joint effort between Anstruther Sailing Club, Anstruther Lifeboat, St Ayles Rowing Club, Anstruther Round Table, Anstruther Improvements Association and the Scottish Fisheries Museum.

With more organisers, and an ever growing popularity, the festival has been extended to start on the Thursday and run until the Sunday.

And the extra day has allowed for an added event. The Anster Mustered festival will combine live bands with the St Andrews Brewery Beer Festival, throughout the opening Thursday.

Three Fence Records artists feature in the shape of The Pictish Trail, Gummi Bako and Lidh at a marquee on the middle pier.

All profits will be shared between local charities, with the St Andrews Brewing Co providing a range of locally brewed beers including Muster Mash – a beer brewed from hops and seaweed, for the festival.

A spokesman for the East Neuk of Fife Round Table said: “We are delighted to present Anster Mustered and to have the opportunity to work in conjunction with local businesses and local talent for the good of the community.

“We are anticipating high demand for tickets and so would encourage people to buy them while they can.”

Tickets details are available from.facebook.com/mustered.
