TOP performing troupe Leven Amateur Musical Association has held auditions for its March 2013 production of the Cole Porter classic, ‘Anything Goes’.
Taking a bow as director for the first time will be Robert Nee, who played the part of Walter De Courcey in ‘Chess’ in 2010.
The musical director, once again, is company favourite, Peter Holligan, and accompanying him on keyboards for rehearsals will be Douglas Clark.
Dancing choreography is by Jemma Guild, who will be assisted in her first show as choreographer by Charles Small.
The main characters are Reno Sweeney, played by Laura Spence, Hope Harcourt by Gillian Hewitt, Billy Crocker by Jonathon Cammige, Moonface Martin by Gordon Taylor, Elisha Whitney by Nigel Orkney, Erma by Lyndsay Rowan, Evangaline Harcourt by Norma Walker and Lord Evelyn Oakleigh by Howard Stevens.
This year, LAMA Youth was formed for younger members aged between 10 and 16 years. Their first production was performed at The Centre in September and was very successful.
A few of the older youth members have joined the main company and will be performing in ‘Anything Goes’.
The production showcases the music of Cole Porter and the company looks forward to presenting this well-known show in its 141st year, since formation in 1872.
