Art and design student Andrew MacLeod from East Wemyss showcased his talents at the Adam Smith College’s recent Creative Industries Show.

Andrew’s impressive drawings and sketches, combined with fabric backdrops, portrayed a range of abandoned buildings and industrial themed images full of interesting colour and texture.

The 29-year-old has had a variety of jobs in the past but his heart lies with art and design.

He said: “I was delighted with my finished work and it was a great experience to exhibit at the show. I have just completed an HND in art and design and hope to secure an art based job selling my work.”

The Creative Industries Show is one of the most inspirational events of the college calendar where students exhibit the very best of their year’s work.

From furniture and jewellery to 3D interiors and fashion there was something for all at this year’s event in the Atrium space on the St Brycedale Campus, Kirkcaldy.

A wide range of specialisms were on view including: animation, glass fusion, furniture production, graphics, fashion, jewellery, sculpture, textiles, interior design and hair and beauty.

A fashion show was also held during the event to exhibit the great work of the fashion students.

Aileen Lamden, executive director at Adam Smith College, said: “The Creative Industries Show is one of the highlights of the college year which we all look forward to. This year proved to be just as successful as previous years with a wide range of fantastic exhibits.

“The students have shown an exceptional high level of creativity and hard work and I would like to thank them and our fantastic staff for putting together such a wonderful exhibition which is a great way to mark the end of the college year.”
