Andrew takes plunge from rail bridge
Andrew took part in an abseil to raise funds for Cupar YMCA/YWCA.
CUPAR YMCA-YWCA management committee member Andrew Cummings has raised £350 for the ‘Y’ after completing a fund-raising abseil of the Forth Rail Bridge.
Commenting on the experience, Andrew said: “It was a bit chilly up at the top waiting to go and the noise of the trains passing overhead was deafening!
“However, it was a great experience abseiling down with everyone cheering.
“Although it was around a 165 feet drop, the abseil itself went pretty quickly.
“I’m delighted to have been given so much support from local people and thank them for their sponsorship.”
This is just the first stage of a whole diary of fund-raising events the Y will be undertaking over the next year.
Norma Graham, general secretary of Cupar YMCA-YWCA, said that with rising costs and overheads and the Y looking at developing new projects with young people, the management committee would be co-ordinating a variety of fundraising events over the next 12 months.
More information on fund-raising events is available on the Y’s website at www.cuparymca-ywca.org.uk
