New map to guide you along the coastal path

AN updated map of the Fife Coastal Path is now available.
Stretching from the Kincardine Bridge to Newburgh, the Fife Coastal Path is the country’s oldest and most popular coastal walk.
The newly-launched map includes the recently added western and northern extensions and gives a detailed guide of its entire 117 miles.
It has been made available by Fife Coast and Countryside Trust and Stirling Surveys, an independent mapmaking and publishing company.
A proportion of the map’s sale value will go to the trust in order to help maintain the path.
David Barbour, partner at Stirling Surveys, said “The first edition of the Fife Coastal Path map went on sale in 2005 and has proved a popular guide for a much-loved route, as well as winning recognition by both the British Cartographic Society and International Cartographic Association.
“We are hopeful that the updated version, which we have kept to a manageable A2 size on waterproof and durable paper, will prove to be equally in demand by users of the Path.”
Amanda MacFarlane, FCCT chief executive, said the group was “very pleased” to be launching the updated Fife Coastal Path map which it’s hoped will encourage people to experience the path as well as promoting the new extensions.
“The path is considered one of Scotland’s Great Trails and Fife has been recognised as the top destination for outdoor tourism for the past four years, we are confident that the new extensions will prove popular and will help to ensure the Fife Coastal Path continues to deliver significant economic impact across the region,” she said.
“FCCT would also like to express our thanks to all the landowners involved in the creation of the two extensions”
