The WalkTen charity event at Hill of Tarvit

THERE’S still time to sign up for this year’s Walk Ten charity event and help raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The walk takes place on the evening of Saturday, August 4, at Hill of Tarvit - a venue that occupies a special place in the charity’s history as the mansion house was the home of its first-ever hospice wing, opened in 1952.

It is one of a number of 10k walks being held at beautiful venues across the UK.

Sponsored by home emergency insurer HomeServe, the walk will be followed by an evening of entertainment including fireworks, music and a picnic.

RESPONSE

Jackie Johnston, Marie Curie Cancer Care’s area fundraising manager for Tayside and Fife, said: “There’s been a really enthusiastic response to Walk Ten and there’s still time for anyone who hasn’t registered to sign up.

“People taking part can expect a fun evening in the wonderful surroundings of Fife.

“All the funds raised by participants will help Marie Curie Nurses to provide more care to local people with terminal illnesses and we’d encourage everyone taking part to raise as much as they can.”

To register for the Walk Ten, or for more information, go to www.mariecurie.org.uk/walkten or call 08700 340 040.
