Music project seeking help to hit high notes

A COALTOWN of Wemyss based music group is appealing for volunteers to offer tuition to its growing number of young students.

The Strike a Chord Music Project was started four years ago with the aim of giving young people of the surrounding area an opportunity to learn to play musical instruments.

Thanks to readily available funding at the time it was able to purchase a number of instruments and has based itself in the village hall ever since.

But with many of the tutors moving on to other things, the group is now on the look out for new blood with three main tutors working with on average a group of around 15, 10-19 year olds on Wednesday evenings.

Those with music experience, whether experienced, self taught or a music students, are asked to contact Marjory Forsyth on 01592 713897.
