Looking back: Mysterious goings-on in Newburgh

editorial image

We’re not entirely sure what’s going on in this photo so perhaps readers may be able to help us solve the mystery.

It was found in the Fife Herald’s archives and has ‘Pied Piper at Newburgh’ written on the back, but no date.

Judging by the headwear it looks like it could be the town’s annual Oddfellows parade, but that traditionally takes place at New Year and this photo looks to have been taken on a warm day.
