THERE was a large turnout at North Glenrothes Community Council (NGCC) meeting, with locals keen to hear more about plans to build up to 200 homes in Cadham.

Ruth Highgate and Ruth Mustard from property consultants James Barr- acting on behalf of Tullis Russell, revealed details about the proposals for the site of the paper firm’s water works. More than 50 people turned up, with many concerned about how such plans would affect their neighbourhood, particularly in relation to increased traffic.

Chair of NGCC, Ron Page, said: “We have not had an attendance like that for years.”

He revealed that Ms Highgate told the meeting that Fife Council and Transport Scotland have knocked back plans for the new development to use the ‘Tullis Russell roundabout’ for access- a suggestion put forward by the NGCC to prevent more problems at the Cadham Junction.
