TRADITIONAL music fans are in for a treat next month when one of Scotland’s most acclaimed bands makes a rare appearance in north east Fife.
Perthshire group Tarneybackle will play a gig at the Village Inn in Pitlessie on Friday, August 12.
Known by fans as ‘The Sultans of Trad’, Tarneybackle were formed in 2000 and comprise John Davidson, Sandy Marshall and Lorna Davidson.
Between them the trio play a host of instruments, performing traditional and contemporary folk music from Scotland and beyond.
Since their formation they have toured extensively, releasing four albums and a DVD.
Renowned for their folk festival performances, they have recorded for BBC Scotland on various occasions and have even played at the Scottish Parliament.
