St Andrews institution Jannettas Gelateria is up for a prestigious award.

It is in the Best Gelateria category of the Scottish Italian Awards 2015 and fans have until the end of September to vote.

The awards highlight Italian businesses across Scotland and the winner will be announced at a ceremony in Glasgow in November.

Jannettas co-owner Owen Hazel said: “The Scots Italian element of our business underpins everything, and is at the heart of what we do each day.”

The business was started by wife Nicola’s great-grandfather in 1908 and the couple took over the running 21 years ago.

“Our aim is to carry on the family tradition of making only the best quality gelato,” said Owen.
