East Neuk estate hosts new equestrian event

Show jumping is coming to Balcarres.

Show jumping is coming to Balcarres.

COLINSBURGH is saddling up for some world class equestrian sport.

The Balcarres International Horse Trials, from June 14-17, promises the newest and most exciting event of its type in Scotland.

The attraction will see competitors from Olympians through to local grass-roots riders take part in this British Eventing-affiliated occasion.

Eventing is the ultimate test of horse and rider, requiring skill, all-round ability, courage, dedication and a lot of hard work.

Balcarres is hosting two days of dressage, a day of cross-country riding and a day of show jumping, making a total of four days.

Some of the lower level classes will see all three phases of dressage, show jumping and cross-country take place on the same day.

Lord and Lady Balniel look forward to welcoming spectators and visitors to their picturesque estate in the heart of the East Neuk.

And the organisers say it’s not just for ‘horsey-minded’ enthusiasts – there will be something to appeal to everyone, with a shopping village, displays, arena attractions and entertainment, .

More information about the spectacular is available on the website www.balcarreshorsetrials.com
