CUPAR Highland Games committee are set to ‘fleece’ local people for a donation towards their latest fund-raising idea!

The group has launched its ‘cash for crosties’ competition which invites participants to buy a square in a grid where the sheep may have left a ‘crostie’.

Squares cost £1 each and the committee is hoping the venture could net them £2000 before the annual games take place in Duffus Park on Sunday, July 1.

Chairman Alan Hendry said he hoped the £250 prize would have people flocking to take part.

“Squares will be on sale at our stall at Cupar Children’s Gala this weekend and at the next farmers’ market, as well as at Craigtoun Park on June 19,” said Alan.

“They are also available from me and other committee members.

“Thanks to Jamie Coggle of Barbarafield Farm, the winning ‘square’ will be decided at a later date when a lamb is put into a shed and allowed to do its business.”
