SECONDARY school pupils have raised a total of £870.50 for charity in a sponsored kick-a-thon which saw them kick a ball for 100 miles

The S1 class at Kirkland High School and Community College presented representatives from Mary’s Meals with the cheque.

Tony Begley, education co-ordinator at Mary’s Meals, said: “We are extremely grateful to all the pupils at Kirkland High School for making this fantastic effort to support our work.

“Their support will help us provide a daily meal in a place of education to hungry children living in some of the world’s poorest communities.

“An education can have a life-changing effect on a child and its community.”
